Vegetarian Confessions of a Fit Foodie

As I sat down to savor the Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger, I couldn't help but wonder why I had deprived myself of such culinary bliss for so long. It had been over three years since I last ate meat, and yet here I was, indulging in something that would make even the most devout vegetarian blush. Los Angeles was the epicenter of everything 'it,' and calling myself a vegetarian just seemed like the right thing to do. My hair was permed, my scrunchie was neon orange, and I was convinced that my newfound lifestyle would make me a better person.

But as time went on, my motivations began to shift. I started to realize that being a vegetarian wasn't just about what you didn't eat; it was also about the choices you made every day. And for me, those choices were more about convenience than conviction.

So, why did I recently find myself back at Jack-in-the-Box, ordering a Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger and devouring it in its entirety? Maybe it's because I realized that being a vegetarian isn't about depriving yourself of certain foods; it's about embracing the complexity of your own desires and cravings.

Or maybe it's just because I'm a fit foodie at heart, and sometimes even vegetarians need a little bit of bacon to spice up their lives.
